Suddenness of this short life on earth
Dear boys,
As we had such great fun over the weekend going through the circle of life, I came back stumped by what I read in the news.
Five missing members of the dragon boat team after boat capsized
It was merely a few weeks ago where we engaged the help of the team in instructing us how to paddle and played and rowed with us during our session.
I was anxiously trying to find out if the instructors who took us were indeed lost.
Today’s news: Five bodies found. It’s confirmed that one of whom, Poh Boon San, was with us previously (on Sir Yongwei and Chee Leong’s) boat, died.

Sad, isn’t it? They were the fittest, the young and promising people of our nation. Remembered we just learnt the weekend about:
- the suddenness of death that took over us (even 1 min, after u get married)
- the reality that lies after, where are we after we die?
Few lessons we learnt through all these events……
a) life is short, cherish your friends, family and people you know and you love.
b) suddenness of sickness, death that takes us or our loved ones without notice (gives us no time to react)
c) Thirdly and the MOST IMPORTANT LESSON: you need to know where you go after death.
Remember our lesson in Luke about the rich man and Lazarus.
Lazarus, who looked towards Jesus, know, believe, trusted and acknowledged Jesus as His only Lord and Saviour will enter into eternity with God himself.
Where will you be? The place of torment where the rich man was? Or with Jesus himself in paradise? Your choice.

A journey to discover one’s past, to embrace the present and hope for the future. A road less travelled, that begins here….

Little India – a familiar place to many of our Indian boys..

When the boys report late, we decide to intelligently fill our stomachs first. Hence, we visited Fatimah…

We sure enjoyed our roti prata!

And so began our boys’ journey, to discover Little India and Beyond…

Aiyoh, where to start? I forgot what’s “topo” liao, also dunno how to read map! Die man! Just open mouth and ask! Captain never says cannot ask! haha

So many checkpoints?!

As the ever-intellegient officers, we made our way to our checkpoints.

Arab Street in the morning

Shree Laskshminarayan Temple

A little study about Hinduisim

Hmmm.. is this breakfast? Or fussing over next checkpoint?

Self-declared early tau huay treat!!

Sultan Mosque – My checkpoint

The boys’ clue
After hours when they finally arrive,

What are the boys looking at?

Oh, sepat… which they are hopelessly in need of practice!

After learning more about Islam, its time to head back to the check point, cos they took so long!
At Princept Street Prebysterian Church (our checkpoint),

Some were learning more about Buddhism from Sir Govin,

While others kena conned to put on camo…

I still cannot believe many indulged in cheap thrill!!

Green Hulk Shiva!

You don’t need to sit in the sun, you’re not ice-cube! says Sir Pan Yong

Finally after the versper, its time to go….

For TAU HUAY!!

War Games!!! not quite…
Opening parade after exams… it was promotion and awards for swimming… looks like our boys did well…

Ermm… some of our boys cannot march or collect awards properly… but i didn’t mention you, Junlin!

Our boys have done us proud!

after much frantic rush… guess what its for?

To get a paper CUP!!!
All for the sake of sabo-ing your friends, or worse till your officers… it all depends on your rank, whether you are Corp, General, Major, Sergent etc etc…

In the dark dark nite safari, let me take you through our highlights of the trip….
1) Ben & Jerry’s (hahahaha)

After all that walk to see “animals”, or maybe to let them see us, Ice-cream’s good! Guess where’s Sir Panyong??? Buying ice-cream for us, of course!
2) Halloween Party and our hosts

Only the beginning… full of anticipation to see animals..
Instead we met….

a) the gate-keeper at the rest-stand

b) over-view of dinner menu

c) Probably the only harmless zebra pet @ the Halloween party

d) the VIP from China, or maybe Hong Kong?

e) Jonathan’s future wife?!!
If you are famished, there’s always food at a party!

Dim-Sum, anyone?
And, like any other Singaporean who would enjoy, SHOPPING!!

Emperor- wannabe

the Eunuches and Generals of the Empire
Finally, we salute to you… the tour to the Night Safari… or a Halloween party?!!
