How to survive BB Cares when there’s a generation gap….
Dear all, how do you survive being “forced to participate in BB Cares” when our officers say we must preach what we learn and contribute to society? We don’t mind going to orphanage.. but what happens when we are going to bring grandpas and grandmas out when we cannot communicate with them at all? Watch on.. and learn from us….
Lesson One: Practice singing even when you don’t feel like it - your promotion and rank is at stake…. so says Sir Yongwei….

Lesson Two: Fear Not when a cockroach lands on you. Always carry an empty bottle to keep it captive. – Primer Tian Sheng advises

Arrival at Geylang East Home for the Elderly

Time for our older boys to take care of the little ones

Friendly Happy Granny award winner 2007!

Organizing our boys to make sure all elderly are taken care of…
Lesson Three: “Always be ready to sing your national day song…. you will Always be sabotaged by your officers” – Nic Khoo (34th Coy)

Lesson Four: Always know your history well, even though you are not the citizen of the country. Our tour guides are NOT Locals! (“I know Batam better!!” Budi from 34th Coy)

Lesson Five: Slow down! We have to walk slower than our elderlys. The greatest Commandment – never walk in front of them!

Lesson Six: We cannot communicate with them, but whatever happens, we gotta hang onto them tight!

Our officers are always watching us….. will i make the grade?
Lesson Seven: Never walk more than 200m at one shot. We need to find a shelter and a place to sit.

Their happy faces are always our joy!

Learn from our officers – engage them in conversations to reminise the past…..
Lesson Eight: In a foreign land or culture, do as the Romans do. Hence we sit and enjoy the scenary.

Learning how to relax by the river side….
Back at the elderly centre…..

Lesson Nine: The way to the stomach is the way to the heart. Food binds people together…. so we learn to sit down and “fei lo ship” with them.

Lesson Ten: If all else fails, just laugh it off! Being happy is the joy of life!

Oh yes, and my officer learns a lesson – always find a good and professional photographer, if not, DIY! Most pictures are terribly blurred!!!
